FLDS: Mass Kidjacking
Have you been following the Eldorado, Texas case, in which CPS agents removed 437 children from their parents care? The entire circus of events is simply shocking!
The entire case was based on an anonymous report of abuse. An arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of Rozita Estraletta Swinton (Dana Anderson) on April 18, 2008, the alleged anonymous caller. She is being charged with "False Reporting to Authorities," a class three misdemeanor.
Despite an arrest warrant having been issued, the children are still being held in custody at various locations around the state of Texas. It is clear officials believe the woman lied, so why haven’t the children been released to their mothers?
This case is one that makes absolutely no sense to me. They believe these children have been abused. Where is the proof? Some of the girls were married off to much older men at a very young age, some as young as 14. Is this really so shocking? Heck, back in Kentucky and in many other states, young girls were married off at the tender age of 12 or 13. It was quite common in the last century.
My biggest concern is the charge of polygamy, which to my knowledge is against the law in Texas and charges still have not been brought against the men. It simply doesn't make any sense that the women and children were rounded up and the men were left free, when the men are the ones who broke the law. What crime did these mothers and children commit?
After reading through the "Emergency Motion for Stay Pending Review of Petition for Writ of Mandamus," it is clear to me that this entire case was mishandled from the very beginning. The state of Texas has a lot of questions to answer for violating the rights of hundreds of people. If CPS and the courts get away with the way they have treated these families, no family will be safe in the state of Texas. It will be open season.

My Comments: If you read the comments presented against the community, you will notice that the primary argument dealt with several inferences, no evidence, and opinion ONLY:
1) age of marriage, in Texas, it is legal to marry at 16 and under court order as young as 15. It used to be as young as 14. I know, my step-daughter got married at that age when she came up pregnant by a 21 year old! Interestingly, DSS could not prove that any of the 5 girls referred to were not married only that they were pregnant at 16 and 17 years of age. Don't you find it interesting that we can give condoms to children as early as elementary school (Maine), then, using DSS logic (if it is possible), find fault with the parents because the condom did not work and the child got pregnant.
2) They mention several females living at the ranch that became pregnant under the age of 18, gee, what do the headlines lament over? Something about teenage pregnancy I think. It seems to me, in my oh so very humble opinion, that the liberal thought that caused this problem is now using the pretense of caring for these children to deflect blame back to the parents. Isn’t it time that parents are allowed to parent.
3) Notice the word alleged, the term must be used absent any evidence. We've all been down that road, haven't we, that inference thing again.
4) Here's the kicker to me - The department is "of the opinion" that the "pervasive belief system" of the community is responsible for inculcating such abuse. Read it, the poor "underage" female children are raised to believe that children are blessings! We have more than 300 million people in the US population from such a perverted idea! Children ARE blessings, and the Department's perverted idea that they are not is appalling to me. Doesn't this just speak to the real face of the Department? They are charged with caring for abused, neglected, and abandoned children, yet, according to this statement, children are an aberration to society due to a perverted understanding of the birds and the bees as simply sex and not the making of a miracle of life.
5) They have found absolutely no evidence to charge the leader of this community with anything! Here we go again, check out the internet stories, slander, defamation, and total negativity. All false, all wrong and absolutely illegal!
6) Wow, I am impressed though, the person making the false report to begin with IS being held accountable. I hope that serves as warning for all of those that made false reports against us.
7) Finally, I love the one household theory, does that make us all one household too! Great, let's pull together like this community did and fight back, just like they did.
