Hi my name is Brandy and I want to warn all parents away from Oconee County, Georgia.

I've lived in many counties and struggled all my life but I had my babies with me and we were happy. Oconee County DFCS has destroyed my life almost completely and if they have their way they will finish me off.

They have my 3 beautiful daughters in their custody now because of social drug use. My little girls have been so traumatized since they came into our lives. When they took them from me they went to the school and picked them up...without me being able to tell them I love them, or why these were strangers taking them away or anything.

How was that in the best interest of my babies??

My children have never been left with strangers in their entire lives, not even with a sitter. I can only imagine how scary that must have been for them. I only get to see them 1-hour a week so there is not much time to talk about things.

I wish I could just lie in the bed and hold them and tell them everything is going to be ok. I can’t afford a lawyer and things don't look so good. But I got off course there.

Out of all the counties I've lived in I've never seen any as bad as this one. Everyone I know with children in this county is going through something with these heartless cps workers. I tell everyone because I wish someone had told me.

Had I known, I would have moved into a box before I moving to this county.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have had your children taken away. The trauma of being removed from a parent is worse than the abuse these agencies are claiming to protect children from.

I haven't heard anything about the situation in Oconee County. I'm glad you sent in this information. The two biggest hot-spots I'm aware of at this time are Texas and Tennessee.

It's almost like county officials got together and decided to use child removal as a means of fund raising. It's just sick that our federal government not only allows this but encourages this behavior.

I wish you well in your fight to regain custody of your children and pray that the Lord will keep them safe.

My heart goes out to you. I have a niece that has been taken over by Berkley County SC DFCS. They are saying that my brother in law molested her but aren't charging him with it. What the? This is such a load of crap and even if it is true, why is our whole family being punished? We haven't seen her since May. She is living with her mother and grandmother who have been drug addicts and all kinds of other things since she was born. But we are the bad people.

What I keep asking is: How is it helping a child to take all of that love away from them? The only thing that keeps me from loosing it is to Pray.

Pray really hard and just hope that one day you will get to hold them and tell them you love them again.

The original problem was that the father was molesting the little girl. Then DFCS got removed her from her mother because of one failed drug test. I never knew anything about DFCS until my friend and now my neice. This is such a horrible injustice! Who do these people think they are to judge others the way they do with not cause? Do they not know the "Judge not yet you be judged" phrase from the bible? I can not believe what our government has come to. Making money by the sale and trade of our children. Did you know that everyone from the DFCS worker, foster parents and the therapists get a chunk of money for what they do for your child? That's why they want them in the system. I am currently looking for any watchdog/advocacy groups that help in these situations. So far no luck, if I find out anything I will let you know.

Meanwhile, the person who suffers the most, Talia, has no say in what is happening. It has been a humiliating, and heartbreaking saga and the people who should have placed my daughter back with her parents months ago are being manipulated and obviously heartless about the reality of what is happening. After much a fight, we are now being told we will have her back full time by Christmas, so she can meet her grandparents in CT for the first time, and get a renewed sense of where her home really is- with mommy and daddy. The only problem with that is, should I believe DFACS when they say we will get her back by then, or should I believe the more plausible idea that they are messing with my family once more and relying on spurious interests for advice as to how to deal with this particular case, hence prolonging ever longer? We will find out...and until then, we can only hope and pray. There has got to be a way to keep checks on DFACS. As a governing body in the United States, they must be subject to checks and balances as other governing bodies in the country are. It just doesn't seem just as it is.

Just remember these things: The DFCS office cannot just take children away, they petition a court to sign an order, and the Judge is the one with final say on removal decisions. Also, no one person in an office makes the call to remove a child, the CPS worker and his or her supervisor work long and hard hours fretting over each case as it happens before making that choice.

Of course I don't expect anyone reading this to value my opinion, after all, I'm looking at this thing rationally from a distance, while you're all up close and over-involved emotionally.

In every case, I hope for a better future for your children and yourselves.

Before everything was said and done His mother who had pushed this whole thing thinking that they could regain full custody told the DSS worker and the police officers that my daughter had accused her daddy and her step sister of "touching her " "down there". Think about it My daughter was 3 at the time this went on, the only thing she knew about touching was when someone was wiping her after she used the bathroom, or something of the sort. Of course she would say that, she was 3 for crying out loud. They immediatly took her into their custody and placed her with god knows who, god knows where. I went into major debt that I don't know if I cna get out of to get a laywer. My daughter was gone for 2 weeks. She was so devistated after the judge made them return her because of a lack of evidence, it took us 3 days to get her to start to snap out of the depression. She wasn't herself after that and still to today, on occassion, she says to me"Mama, I don't ever want to go back to that place again," I know exactly what she is talking about everytime. It's like it haunts her, and there is nothing that I can do or say to take it back. On the bright side, I still have custody, the DSS worker lost her job, and the 2 police officers were fired. That is what a good lawyer can do. Ask around to your friends and see who they reccommend. Maybe you could work something out with the lawyer about payments. This will be one thing that you never regret. Trust me!

My brother David in the floor about one year old. Well that was the beginning of the Highway to Hell for my Father. Dad moved mom and David to Barrow County Ga. Hoping to help mother. From then on mother ran to DFCS Any Time Dad Tried to get her to act like a mother. My FATHER IS THE MOST WONDERFULL FATHER anyone could hope for, but DFCS helped my mom send DAD off to prison with their lies. Now today I am 27 years old and we are very close. We talk hours every day and go hiking a lot. Mom is now 53 years old and MOM still has the barrow county Liars with her but not her son David or her daughter.

In SC the state office is in Columbia, Call them and report the DSS worker. Raise all the hell you can. Call your States Attorney, They are there to protect the people of the States rights. Not the Attorney General, The State Attorney is differant. Make a report to them. Picket the court house and call the News and tell them what your doing. Draw attention to the problem and to them and someone will listen. Do not sit back and keep your mouth shut. FIGHT BACK !!!!!!!! There is alot you can do with out an attorney.. Beleave me if theres a case an Attorney will see what your doing and probaly take your case for free. If you get others to protest to ,, Together you probaly have a joint law suit. People need to go after DSS.
